When we’re constantly stressed or in Fight or Flight mode…
✨ We struggle to make habits stick.
We give up on the gym after a month. We fall into the trap of endless doom-scrolling. We go extreme for a few weeks, then swing to the other side.
It’s NOT about lacking willpower! The neural pathways in your brain—those that allow lasting habits to form—cannot rewire when your body is flooded with cortisol and stress.
It will feel like no “good” habit lasts… but we can change that.
When you learn to regulate your nervous system (and come out of that perpetual Fight or Flight response, which feels like poison to your body!!), your body calms enough to create lasting change—with ease.
Yes, you’ll still need to show up (no running away there hehe!), but it won’t feel like you’re banging your head against a brick wall just to make habits stick—whether it’s sticking to a new meditation routine, hitting the gym, reading, or improving your sleep.
And if you’re in Freeze Mode (another Survival Mode State), you might be “getting by” in life… but you’re likely over-sleeping, avoiding friends, self-isolating, or resisting hard conversations. You’re just “going with the flow,” perhaps even if it’s not the flow you actually want…
This leads to short-lived habits and, more often than not, regular self-sabotage.
I’ve done mindset work for over 10 years, but it wasn’t until I worked with my nervous system that I saw my habits finally stick in a healthy, sustainable way.
